A Journey To Find A Web Designer

By Stephen Grisham, Sr.

Web design has changed a lot in the past few years. Now that "web 2.0" is in full swing, you need to choose your web designer carefully. Web design skills of the last decade do not apply today. Today's great web developers should also have lite programming knowledge such as javascript, in addition to a complete creative portfolio. As the Internet changes, choosing a web designer with a balance of artistic skills and adherence to web standards is the best option.

Web designing is often not updated in smaller businesses as it is difficult to manage. Creating anything on the web is a difficult task unless you understand the many different languages that computers dish out. After you decide you need to add or update your website; plan ahead. Start with the face of the company, the real image. Web designing is a craft just like engineering - plans are essential, followed by the craftsmanship to put it all together.

First, you should consider whether or not you will need a database. If you need to do more with your site than a contact form and dynamic text, images, and video, you will probably need a programmer too. If you are making a website for the face of your business, you may just need a web designer to begin. Research similar websites that you like and take lots of notes on your likes and dislikes. Don't forget links to the pages. Web designers frequently charge by the hour, so proper planning before you start will help your web designer work more quickly and will save you money.

After you have a good idea of what you would like to see on your website, it's time to start looking for a web designer. The Internet is the best place to look of course. There are numerous people already advertising their services, or you can place a free classifieds ad to request applications and portfolio links. You should also have a budget range prepared.

When seeking out a web designer, you should consider quality, reputation, portfolio, and personality. You may happen to find a person with very little professional experience, but a great reputation and history. Degrees and years of experience certainly factor in, but in many cases students currently freelancing are far better at web design than professionals who have 10 years experience, but none of it recent.

Acronym soup. Okay, now the tough part...what about all that jargon. Luckily you don't have to know much about it. A professional web designer will have at least the following skills: Image editing, CSS3, XHTML, and possible javascript or knowledge of a javascript library such as jquery. You will need javascript if you would like moving parts. You will need to hire someone with Flash skills, possibly actionscript too, if you are planning on having a movie or interactive graphics and sounds.

When choosing the web designer make sure you look over their portfolio carefully. If all of their sites look the same, that means template - and do not choose them. Templates can just be purchased by you and for a fraction of the price. These are very unoriginal and do not look as good as a creative web designer could make your site look.

If you plan on updating your site a lot and are unfamiliar with HTML, it is best to get a content management system. CMS's are available in simple blog sites and professional areas like Drupal. When choosing a brander CMS - make sure that your designer is a good skinner and can put newer images onto your software.

Once you choose your designer you will need to make some mock ups. These are merely images that show the website in its finality. Examine these very closely as they are what your final product will look like. This is why planning is the most important part as they are what gets the project underway. With the mock ups agreed on the web designer merely puts them into XHTML and CSS and turns the pictures into your own site. Consider all the benefits of a quality web site and finding a web designer - the right web designer. - 17565

Tips for Finding Stylish Ladies Clothing Online

By Amy Nutt

When was the last time you battled your way through department store crowds just to find a nice outfit? The noise, the unhelpful staff, searching through racks and racks of clothing to find the right color and size ...it can be a bit overwhelming. And then you have the change rooms, tiny cubicles with doors that rarely stay shut, where you struggle to turn around without knocking your outfits from the dinky hooks on the wall. Store change rooms are often badly lit, as well, so what looks decent in the store might look hideous in the light of day.

It`s a pain to go shopping in a store, which is why more and more women are opting for the online method, instead.

Online shopping makes it very easy to choose what you like. You can search by color, so only your favorites come up, select the style and choose your size from a drop down menu. It`s a far sight easier than searching fruitlessly through racks and racks of dresses only to discover they don`t have your size.

If looking for ladies clothing online seems a bit intimidating, don`t worry. It`s not difficult if you know how and there are some techniques that can actually help you find the right clothing faster.

- Know your style. Do you look better with fitted jeans or flared? Halter top dresses or A-line? Having a clear idea of what you look best in will help you find the right outfit. To help you out, some websites even offer a virtual model that you can customize to your body shape and size and even put your own face on. This can be helpful to see which styles look best on your body type.

- Search specifically for your size range. If you`re petite, look for dresses that are smaller and for plus sizes, be sure to add this to your search. It will eliminate the frustration of finding the perfect blouse, only to discover that it`s only available in sizes that wouldn`t fit you.

- Consider color matching. If you are on a budget or just don`t want the hassle of searching your closet for something to go with your plaid shirt, try choosing a handful of complimentary colors and a couple of accents and base your clothing searches and purchases on those.

- Look for coupon codes. When you find ladies clothing that you like, take a moment to do a coupon code search for that store. You can often save 10-15% simply by inputting a special code when you`re checking out.

- Opt for stores that let you return clothing. This way, you can receive the outfit, try it on in the comfort of your own home, get the opinions of friends and family, if you like and should things not work out . . . just send it back. It`s a hassle free way to check out your clothing and allows you to take your time trying on the clothing. There isn`t any line outside the door and you have plenty of space to change.

Online shopping for ladies clothing is easier these days than ever before. Nearly every store that you would normally shop at in the real world is available online and you`ll be able to take your time browsing, no commute to worry about! With all the advantages, it`s definitely worth doing your shopping online at home, any time of day or night and without all the crowds. - 17565

Picking The Right Cell Phone

By C R Bolden

Considering the innumerable varieties of cell phones in the market, it is quite a challenging task to picking the right cell phone. However, the basic criterion of selecting the best cell phone is to be absolutely clear about what your needs are. The best cellular phone is the one that is absolutely right for you. And, of course, you can only have the best cellular phone when you pay for what you want.

Tons of offers are also available. There are free cellular telephone offers, prepaid cellular, digital, mobile, web enabled and many more. No one can tell you which cell phone is best for you because every one has different needs when it comes to their cellular telephone. Some people want absolutely basic features while others want a lot of totally fantastic features. Some need a cellular telephone for e-mail, faxing and surfing the Internet. Many people want it to be top of the line while others prefer simplicity.

The process of buying a cell phone is so confusing. There are simply so many different handsets, networks, deals and call costs to consider that buying the right phone for your usage and budget can be very difficult.

Here are a few tips to help you choose the best cell phone. First of all, decide how much you want to spend and be clear on the features you need. Remember that the more the features, the higher the cost. Purchase a battery with a decent battery life and judge the mobile phone by the talk time it gives. The bare minimum should be 2 hours of maximum talk-time plus 90 hours of maximum standby time.

Shop and compare for pricing and service. These days, quality phones are very cheap. There is a proliferation of cell phone makers including Nokia, Motorola, Ericson, Siemens, Samsung, Sony, etc. More importantly, cellular plans have come down enormously in overall price with some caveats.

Some standard features include caller ID, phone book with fast dial, call waiting, voice mail and auto-answering. Some also have other added features like your first incoming minute free. The high-end cell phones will have voice-a ctivated dialing, SMS, 2-way paging, games, scheduling calendars, digital organizer and all the standard features. The main thing is to see what fits into your life style best and also to be sure when and if the features expire.

While making a cell phone and service plan decision, remember that everybody's needs are different. So what's good for your friend may not be the best choice for you. Your best bet would be to search online for websites with good cell phone comparisons in order to get a quality cell phone offer.

To make sure that your cell phone comparisons are complete look at Nokia cell phones, Ericsson cell phones, Sprint cell phones, Motorola cell phones and Samsung cell phones. Research the different free cell phone offers, prepaid cell phones and service plans from brand names like AT. - 17565

Free Registry Cleaner Software - How Free Is It?

By Hiel Strassman

If drivers, applications or software were never removed from our computers and we never surfed the net, we would probably never need to clean our registries. Bear in mind spyware and malware are types of software and they are often being removed from our computers. This, in itself, means it is necessary to clean the registry often. Unfortunately, it is also true normal internet surfing will put a strain on a PC's registry. So, if we don't clean our registry, corruption will accumulate on our hard drives and the sad fact is, this will cause our computer's performance to suffer greatly.

Computer crashes, errors and generally poor performance results when corruption is allowed to build up in the registry. One of the reasons registry corruption is prevalent in computers these days when it wasn't so noticeable years ago is because today's operating systems, Windows XP and Vista are huge when compared with older operating systems such as Windows 98. These huge files make it necessary for an operation to travel a long way to get around corruption before it can be executed and this slows everything down.

If a computer's registry were left uncleaned, at certain point it could actually render the computer inoperable. So, cleaning the registry regularly with a good registry cleaning program is important. It would be unwise to use a low quality cleaner, such as a free one because as you will soon see, it may not do the job so well and this could also lead to an inoperable computer. Of course, an inoperable computer means there will be valuable files lost. Some of them may be difficult or impossible to replace!

I have concluded there is no such thing as a free registry cleaner. I have done so because after examining the terms of all the free programs I have seen, it is clear that these programs are designed to scan the registry for errors and remove the first 50 incidents of corruption it finds for free. Then, the customer must pay to get the rest of the corruption removed. 50 incidents is not a lot.

In order to sign you up as a paid customer so you can get all of your corruption cleaned out, the so called free cleaner enacts a pop-up reminding you you have a corrupted registry and if you don't buy this free product your computer will likely fail! The pop-up is very annoying and difficult to get rid of.

But wait, there's more! Before you can get your first scan, you have to give the company your E-mail address and this gives this company the okay to badger you some more! So, even if this registry repair software was free, you would still be paying with aggravation.

These free-in-name-only registry cleaners, at least the ones I've seen, are not Vista ready. This, of course will be a concern to you if you are using Vista on your computer, but it also concerns me because if it is not ready for Vista it is probably lacking in other ways as well.

To sum it all up, a free registry cleaner is probably more expensive than the most advanced ones available today. So, does this mean you get what you pay for? Not really; not when the top registry cleaner on the market is less expensive than these so-called free ones.

Going without a registry cleaner in this day and age could be likened to computer infanticide. Choosing one on the sole basis of price is not a wise move, either. If you don't know which registry cleaner to get, try to find a trusted source who will give you a recommendation. Probably this trusted source should be a computer technician or a friend who has used the product.

So, what we have learned is; there is really no such thing as a free registry cleaner. Still, a good registry cleaner is needed for the upkeep of the modern PC because registry corruption has now become a big problem and it is a problem that didn't exist a few short years ago. - 17565

By residualsuccess

Knowledge is power. This is valuable information. A very basic Cisco Router guide for those of you out there that want to get their feet wet with the Cisco Router. Click here now!

Do you want to learn the Cisco Router but don't know where to start? Are you confused as to how to configure your Cisco Router? Do you have limited time and need to learn the Cisco Router quickly? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this is your opportunity to get immediate access to a Cisco Router Basics Tutorial.

"Why would you want to learn the Cisco router? I'll tell you what happened to me... I went from making $8.00 per hour to $30.00 per hour just by getting some basic Cisco Router knowledge!!

Actually, I got pretty lucky... Let me take you back to the early 90's. I had been doing very basic desktop support and some light Windows NT Administration and one day the main Network Engineer of the company I worked for got in a fight with the boss and walked out!

My boss was desperate yet he knew that I had interest in learning Cisco Routers. He sent me to a 5 day Introduction to Cisco Routers course. I am so glad this company was willing to drop $2000 for this course, but I admit that is a HUGE price tag to learn the fundamentals of the Cisco Router. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't complaining.

$30.00 per hour in the early to mid 90's was a great starting point. I didn't stop there... I kept learning and growing and ultimately started my own IT Consulting company and now charge at least $100 per hour for Cisco Router consulting.

The main point I want to make is this, not everyone has opporunities fall in their lap for a company to drop $2000 for a basic Cisco Router course. I realize that. So what I decided to do was put together the absolute fundamentals that any person needing to learn the Cisco Router needs into one easy to read package at a very affordable price.

Let's face it, knowledge is power! The choice is yours on what you do with valuable information as it becomes available to you. This is valuable information!

Another point I want to make and I'll be very blunt and upfront about it is that Network Engineers with Cisco Router experience make good money! Click here now!

I enjoy helping people learn and grow. I wrote another ebook called PIX/ASA Firewall Keys which has helped catapult many people into greater understanding of the PIX Firewall, and with that comes greater income.

One of the main things I kept hearing from those who read PIX/ASA Firewall Keys was the request to come up with a very basic guide to the Cisco Router, taught in the same down to earth style. So here it is!

This tutorial is going to teach you the very foundation that you will need to know to make it with the Cisco Router. Once you understand and grasp these concepts you can go on to more advanced routing tutorials.

Of all the feedback I get from the readers of my tutorials and ebooks there is one common thing that stands out and this is one that I take great pride in - it is that I can break down these concepts in a very simple, down to earth and straightforward way."
